Overview

Navigating the Future of Money: Innovation, Risks, and Policy Implications is a program designed to demystify digital currencies and guide participants through the opportunities and challenges arising from the digitalization of money. It offers an evidence-based, discussion-led exploration of how new technologies - from blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to emerging cross-border payment frameworks - are transforming the financial ecosystem.

Tailored for central bank officials and policymakers, the program provides participants with a holistic understanding of the evolving payments landscape, the design trade-offs in implementing digital currencies, and the regulatory and operational complexities they introduce. It also explores the intersection between innovation and public trust - equipping participants to assess the implications of CBDCs and private digital currencies on financial inclusion, cross-border interoperability, cybersecurity, and systemic risk.
